Durham Tees Valley prepares for busiest ever day

Durham Tees Valley airport is preparing for its busiest day ever, when 5000 Middlesbrough football fans head to the Dutch city of Eindhoven for the Uefa Cup tomorrow.
In addition to the airport's normal scheduled flights, 17 charter flights will leave Durham Tees Valley Airport ahead of the game tomorrow evening. During this peak, the airport will have 800 departing passengers an hour, 4 times the usual for this time of year.
Airport managing director Hugh Lang said: 'Wednesday will prove to be the busiest day in the history of the airport. We are approaching one of our most exciting times and are confident that our hard work and planning will ensure a great success on the day.
'We are asking fans allow plenty of time for their journey and are patient and co-operative during this busy period.'
