Council vote on airport hotel plans this week
15.11.08
Plans for a new hotel and business park next to Durham Tees Valley Airport could be approved this week, the Echo reports. Three applications, which have been submitted to build the multi-million pound scheme, are to be voted upon.
The first of the three applications is for a business park including 14,500 square metres of office space spread out over eleven two-storey units. The second is to finalise a previously submitted outline proposal for a 100-bed hotel with pub or restaurant, car parking and landscaping. The third is to change the order in which the project would be carried out.
The council's planning officers have recommended that all three applications are approved, subject to a number of conditions, and an operator has already been found to run the hotel. The meeting takes place at the Town Hall on Friday November 19 at 13:30.
