New winter sun flights announced

New winter sun flights have been announced that will bring an extra 18,000 passengers a year to Durham Tees Valley Airport. Thomson Airways plans to launch several new services from the airport in November, including its first flights to Sharm el-Sheikh on the Red Sea.
The news is a boost to the airport, which saw passengers drop by a massive 53% last year. Last week it announced a review of operations would mean 32 job losses and a cut in operating hours, including closing overnight.
