Plans for new giant business park revealled

Plans for a £110m business park t near Durham Tees Valley Airport, with the capacity to create 3500 jobs, have been announced. The 250 acre Skylink International Business Park will be built on land next to the airport, and is being hailed as a major boost for regeneration in the region.
The park will provide about 2 million sq ft of space to airport-related businesses, large-scale industrial companies and freight firms. A main road will run through the centre, providing direct links with the A67, while light industrial and ancillary offices will also be built.
The scheme was unveiled by Peel Holdings, owner of the airport, and Tees Valley Regeneration. They hope that the park will attract millions of pounds in inward investment through attracting major companies to the region.
Although no major tenants have been confirmed, work is due to start in the summer, with completion of the first phase project expected to take up to 10 years to complete, and will involve a new access road and car park.
