Airport expects busy weekend

Durham Tees Valley Airport is expecting one of the busiest weekends of the year despite the economic slowdown in the UK. The majority of flights over this Bank Holiday weekend are booked ‘full to capacity’.
Spokeswoman Emma Ormerod said: ‘Despite the worries about the credit crunch and other economic difficulties, many people have decided that they simply want to get away from the clouds and rain which have plagued the UK this summer. The flights this weekend are about full to capacity.’
